By looking to international markets to sell their goods and services many small businesses could grow their business and diversify into new and profitable markets. But many businesses are unsure of where to start.
Luckily we have a new portal to help them do just that.
Launching our digital international trade portal
Whilst we have the insight and the expertise to help our clients get over these hurdles, previously we’ve never really had a digital “front-door” allowing clients to access it directly via their browser.
That’s why we’ve created an interactive online hub. The International Trade Portal (or ITP) presents a step change in our capability. It delivers extensive, powerful and actionable insight for our clients, helping them trade overseas with ease and confidence. It also acts as a clear and public demonstration of our commitment to helping Britain prosper globally and our shared pledge with the Department for International Trade to increase the number of British exporting companies by 100,000 by 2020.
A full relationship approach
Our relationship teams are at the heart of everything we do, and the ITP is no exception. It can of course be used in a self-serve capacity, but can also help start a conversation which shows the powerful insight held within the portal itself, the expertise of our partners in the Department for International Trade, as well as the experience and knowledge of our relationship teams.
Our ultimate objective is that our clients will be confident in starting to trade internationally, knowing:
- Where to trade
- Who to trade with
- How to trade in that market
- And which banking solutions we can provide to support them
Building, learning and iterating with clients
We’ve been testing the ITP out around the small and medium-sized enterprise and mid-market networks for around four months now, with iterative releases providing constant improvements to the platform. Our manufacturing teams have already used the beta version to help clients in their patch find new opportunities overseas and win new business.
Feedback from clients and other users has been overwhelmingly positive. Any areas flagged for improvement have gone into the development log for future releases. The Portal will continuously improve, with us adding extra content, enhanced links to our partners and generally keeping the ITP fresh, relevant and accessible.
Starting the exporting journey
The public version of the International Trade Portal is now live and available to our clients, prospective clients and intermediaries to help them start their own or their clients exporting journey. Usage of the platform is free to all clients and any users actively invited by our front-line teams. In addition, a visitor to the site can sign up here for a 30 day free trial, regardless of whether they have an existing relationship with us.
