“What was encouraging was the tone of the day.  It wasn’t bank-like; neither was it overly ‘techie.”

This was feedback from a member of our marketing team who attended a practical training day dedicated raising the bar in terms of our digital marketing capabilities.

Across five separate days, the Lloyds Banking Group Marketing Excellence team hosted digital roadshows for over 300 colleagues located in Bristol, Edinburgh, Halifax and London. It provided a chance to bring people together, building on existing skillsets whilst realising how quickly the digital landscape is changing.

Through immersive learning exercises, case studies and guest speakers from Google and our specialist agencies, our team built a deeper understanding of how to meet the needs of customers who no longer ‘go online’, they live online in an increasingly digitally-connected world.

From building a richer understanding of LBG’s data, tools and insights to enhancing how to optimise campaign activity in-flight, colleagues came away with an accelerated view of how to practically apply this learning to their day to day roles.

Digital Expert Days are part of an overall Expert Series designed to enhance the core marketing capabilities of our colleagues. They support the ongoing vision to achieve market leading digital marketing capabilities, best practice application of digital within LBG and be the best bank for our customers.

Shailen Joshi, Head of Digital Marketing Communications, summed up the importance of the session; it’s important that every person that attends get something out of the day. Whether it is practical skills they can implement as part of their day job tomorrow or a greater understanding of the digital journey the Group is on.’’
