As a core part of the culture at Lloyds Banking Group, the Group Brands & Marketing team run exchanges with world class marketing organisations to gain insight and inspiration, along with creating a network of peers to collaborate and share best practice with. Earlier this year, ten colleagues secured a place to take part in a unique two day exchange at the Google EU headquarters in Dublin, to enhance their digital marketing capabilities and further refine their approach to effective content creation.

“Our exchange far exceeded all expectations. We came away bursting with actionable insights and an immense enthusiasm. From targeting and optimising media, through to Google’s incredibly unique but very deliberate organisational culture – we covered a remarkable amount in our jam-packed two day experience.” Says one of the exchange attendees.

The team came away from the exchange full of inspiration and ideas for how they plan to share their insights with the wider team, with a particular focus on how they can practically apply the learnings in their day-to-day roles, which is key to the success of the Marketing Exchange programme.

Our Marketing Exchange programme supports the ongoing vision to achieve market leading digital marketing capabilities within the Group, and our aim to be the best bank for customers. We’ve successfully partnered with: Harvey Nichols, Wells Fargo, Microsoft, Mastercard, The Telegraph and ITV (to name but a few), with many more exciting opportunities lined up for colleagues throughout 2016 and 2017.

Each year we have one flagship exchange and this involves an online application, selection process and final interview with one of our Executive committee members. The rest of the applicants are eligible for a number of other exchanges. The Marketing Excellence curriculum also includes a mix of dedicated e-learning and face to face internal interactive courses on key marketing topics, access to external training events and subscriptions to leading insight resources.
